Banana-Orange-Strawberry Fruit Shake

email

1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 banana, frozen
6 strawberries, frozen
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp. skim milk powder
1 heaping tbsp. high- quality protein powder (optional)
1 tsp. flax oil (optional)

In a blender, process all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed and serve. This is a yummy frothy shake and can act as a wonderful post exercise drink.

    How much calorie does it contain? Which fruit can be used instead of banana as i have read that bananas are high in calories? Is it so?Could u name some of the high protein powders easily available in the market.

    This drink without the oil can give approx. 160 calories and with oil 205 calories. This is a very healthy drink which can work as a good drink for a meal replacement.

    Instead of banana, you may use papaya which can give the same texture as banana with half the calories.

    100 grams of Bananas have 116 calories. Yes they are high in calories but have numerous health benefits. 100 grams of papaya gives 32 calories. :)

    GLAXO NUTRITION has come out with a product called Actibase which is a good protien supplement made up of whey and soya protein. Nestle- resource nutrition company have Resource High Protein.

    Use meal replacement powders only if you are super duper busy. But you can continue using nestle resource.
