Iron, Vitamin A and Iodine are the three nutrients that control critical functions of growth, development and performance in our body. Since the body needs very small amounts of these nutrients through food, They are called micro nutrients.
All of us need micro nutrients. When we do not get these in the required amounts, the effects can be shocking, particularly during pregnancy and early childhood. More worrying is the fact that these deficiencies begin affecting our body systems even before symptoms appear from the outside. This means that harm is being done to our body even before we become aware that our diet is inadequate! Micro nutrients deficiency gnaws at the core of health and not below the belly.. This is why it is often called ‘Hidden Hunger‘.
Inadequate intake of micro nutrients affects all of us – young and old – seriously.
Deficiency of iron and/ or iodine during pregnancy can cause premature deliveries/abortions. Brain development of the unborn child is seriously affected. In extreme cases Iron deficiency during pregnancy is also known to cause the mother’s death. Moreover children or deficient mothers are denied a healthy start since they are born with poor stores of these micro nutrients.

This is a very dynamic commentary. It is stunning how you distill your point and make it effortless to understand! Thank you!
