Get more fiber: Stock up on wholegrain, vegetables and Unlike refined foods which get digested easily, your body has to work hard to break down and digest fibre. In the process, it uses up extra energy and this is why fruits and vegetables, particularly raw ones, help boost metabolism.” That’s a healthy way to stay trim!

Eat at short intervals: As blood sugar and energy levels hit the post-lunch slump, your metabolism takes a dip. Munch on healthy snacks such as nuts or fruits for a good kick start.

Exercise regularly: A sure-shot way to crank up your metabolism! Exercise increases muscle mass and intake of oxygen. This helps burn more calories

Spice up your meals: Capsaicin, a compound found in chillies, works as a metabolism booster too. Although that’s a tempting spice to reach out for, don’t overdo it

Don’t miss out on Vitamin B: Potassium and Vitamin B boost metabolism. Get your potassium dose from sweet potato, banana and tender coconut water. Wholegrain are your best bet for B vitamins

Stick to the right fats: Healthy fats such as unsaturated fats and Omega-3s trigger a gene activity in the liver which can boost metabolism.
