    Hi Sanjana,

Currently I am in UK suffering from anal fissure since last 1yr, I had visited doctor last year he suggested me to apply rectogesic, it has helped me a lot but haven’t cured completed, than in November I visited India were again I went to the doctor for an advise and he suggested me to take creamaffin before bed, and I must say this syrup has really helped me a lot and the pain has completely gone and the stools were normal. But I am really tensed that is creamaffin intake in a regular basis good for your body? So from last week I have stopped taking creamaffin and started taking isabgol at afternoon and at night, but now again it has started paining and hurting a lot, during my stool movement even though my stools are soft I need to put a lot of pressure initially which is really very painful. I do drink a lot of water and fiber food. Can you tell me why isabgol is not affecting as it should be? or is intake of creamaffin doesn’t harm your body?

    Dear Amitabh,
Sanjana is not a Doctor and certainly not a doctor of medicine. She’s a pretty dietitian in a lab coat. Wearing one does not make one a doctor. I’m surprised she hasn’t chosen to correct you. I’m sure she’s a qualified nutritionist and good at what she does but please don’t be lead to believe hers is a qualified medical opinion. This is in no way to demean her, just stating facts. Other than that her articles are quite informative. I’m sure she’s a wonderful dietitian.

    Hi Sanjana,

Your blog is very informative. Very grateful to you for sharing the knowledge. My mother-in-law suffers from thyroid, high blood pressure and recently been diagnosed with Diabetes too. She’s been taking Isapgol for years for easy bowel movements but is unsure whether she can take it with her Diabetes tablets. Your advise will be highly appreciated. If you could recommend any other natural remedies for diabetes, I would be very grateful for your advice.

    Thank you,
    Seema

      Hi Seema,

Isabgol is safe with the medications for diabetes. In fact it helps to reduce blood sugars. But if she does experience low blood sugars, then I would ask you to reduce the intake of isabgol.

Thanks Sanjana ! for sharing this article.
I wanted to know is, I’m suffering from constipation and acidity(heart burn, gas etc.)
For these problems will ISAPGOl(Psyllium Husk) be beneficial, along with taking care of no reduction in weight at all.
As I’m very thin, I want to gain weight, bt due to constipation, my body is not able to absorb the fats, proteins and required nutrients , no matter of plenty of water I’m drinking(1.5-3 liters daily)+juice+vegetables+fruits.

Instead of taking all the required food for easy bowel movement, I’m failed.
plz suggest me the way which can help me out.

      Hi Vidhya,
I would not suggest Isabgol to you as it can aggravate acidity problems. Preferable take soluble fiber from fruits and vegetables.
