Homemade nutribar

Commercially available Nutribars are bad for your health. Here is a quick and healthy recipe to make your own healthy nutribar

Ingredients

  • Nuts like groundnuts(peanuts), crushed almonds and walnuts-1 cup
  • Seeds like sesame seeds, watermelon seeds, toasted flaxseeds- 1 tbsp each
  • Ground cardamom- 1/2 tsp
  • Jaggery- 1/2 cup

Method

  • Melt jaggery in a pan.
  • Mix all the above ingredients
  • Spread it on a plate and cut it into bar shaped pieces.
  • Let it cool

You now have a healthy nutribar ready. You can add oats, kellogs all bran wheat flakes too for more crunchier versions.

    hey sanjana, m visiting ur blog after a long time! love the articles! this recipe looks great. what is the shelf life of this bar? will it do okay in a cling wrap?

    very well planned site, with lots of required information.

    the nutri bar recipe was good. is there another version of this for diabetic patients. if yes, please publish the same. cos i know that jaggery is not good for diabetics.

    Is there a western-ised substitute for the jaggery. Maybe we have here in the Philippines as another name.

    Basically jaggery is made cane sugar and is available in various countries.

    Wow..!! I am gonna try this out this weekend.
    Thank you so much for this recipe.
    Also I wanted to know more about Whey protein. Is it healthy?
    My fitness instructor told me to have it after workout. Generally I have Paneer paratha after my workout as I know paneer is also high in proteins.
