Indian homes use mustard as a green leafy vegetable as well as mustard seed in dry, powder or paste forms.
Mustard is considered to stimulate appetite and have digestive, laxative, antiseptic, and circulate stimulant properties. In moderation, mustard neutralizes toxins and help ward off an upset stomach. Mustard has unique healing properties;
it remidies winter coughs, increases blood circulation, reduces the severity of asthama and rheumatoid arthritis, and helps prevent cancer. It lowers high blood pressure, restores normal sleep patterns in menopausal women, reduces the frequency of migraine attacks, and prevents heart attack.
Mustard seeds also qualified as a very good source of omega-3 fatty acids as well as a good source of iron, calcium, zinc selenium, manganese, magnesium, protein, niacin and dietary fiber.
