“I have stopped eating rice” is what I commonly hear around. As we know nutrition is the buzz at any gathering where food is involved but about rice is a common question. Okay let me clear one thing..Rice does not have fat, but is made of carbohydrate and negligible protein.
100 grams of rice gives approximately 365 Kcal. So if you do eat more of carbohydrates ie more than necessary, you can unnecessaryily pile on calories and store them if you have a lazy life style where you are not burning calories.
The excess of calories or excess energy is stored in the body as fat and is stored for future use as the body thinks that there may be a need for energy in future. So eating excess carbs be it in the form of rice or wheat or pasta produce the same effects.
So you are not going to cut down on fat but just calories. Eat the right carbs from the complex category such as brown rice or whole grains which are of better nutritional value.
