flax_seedsWe had seen various facts about Flax seeds, so now lets look at the uses. A lot of questions are asked on where one can add them.

Flaxseed powder can be added to warm milk. A teaspoon daily in warm milk is great before going to bed.

It can be added to whole wheat flour while baking bread, muffins etc. This increases the fiber content of the baked food.

It can be added to oats porridge which is eaten for breakfast.

The oil should not be used for cooking as it cannot stand high temperatures for cooking. It can be added to salads for the dressing.

Now you try these various tips to use flaxseed in your daily diet.

    can we take flaxseeds with water? is it to chewed for its benefits?how it can be used in raw form? what are its health benefits?can it used for long time in diet?

    It has to be used in the raw form…Just powder the seeds without adding water and this fine powder can be added to milk water or juice….

    It can be used for as long as you want so that you get the daily dose of omega 3 fatty acids.

    thanks for ans. of flaxseed.how can we make date syrup at home? is it to be made fresh or it can made with some kind of preservatives?

    You are welcome…date syrup can be made at home by soaking dates in water overnight and then can be ground to be mixed in milk, porridges etc.

    Ready made date syrup is available in various super markets. Eg Lions date syrup….

    hi sanjana,

    you have mentioned that 1 tsp of flaxseed powder is ok in a day. but does it serves our daily requirement of omega3-FA? wht i have heard is 15gm (3tsp) should be consumed. Does the seeds require slight dry roasting before consumption?

    Hi,
    Dear Sanjana ji,

    Is this Flax seeds is know as Alsi in hindi and Jawas in marathi language. If yes then it can be consumed in powered chutiny form. Roast flex seeds , roast few red chilles, add salt, and few pods of garlic and powder it , it can be used as side dish .
