Coconut oil and its usage has always been in the news. Every person is advised not to look at coconut oil. But I feel this is baseless.
Coconut oil is just like any other oil. It gives the same calories ie 9 calories as any other oil. The only hiccup is that it provides saturated fats. It does not contain cholesterol at all as we know no plant source can provide cholesterol to us. Excess intake of saturated...

Hanging out with right people makes a lot of difference in your well being and so also in your weight. If your friends are gaining weight, you too gain weight. This happens as the place you dine out with your friends can be places which serve unhealthy food. Fat friends generally tend to order larger portions, keep snacking throughout the day and also stack up junk food at home.
There are several cases I have...

You keep a tough check on what you eat, count calories and exercise regularly but are you actually keeping the balance in your caloric intake. It is very tough to curb your taste buds at a party or at a restaurant. The sumptuous platters are irresistible.
How do you enjoy a guilt free party?
Eat a healthy snack before you go. This will help you to prevent overeating or nibbling on chips, roasted nuts, candies.

Studies have shown that people who hasten through their meals or those who gobble up food until they are totally full have tendency to gain weight. Those who eat faster and eat until full are said to have higher caloric intake and higher body mass indices compared to those who eat slowly.

Following high protein diets are the latest fads. My clients who want to build muscle or gain weight want to eat lots of protein by drinking liters of milk, eating lots of chicken or more than 5 eggs in a day.
It all comes down to how much you need as per your body requirements or health status. Normal requirements are 1 gram per kilogram of body weight for a man with ideal body weight. 1.2 grams per kilogram...

It is advisable not to eat just before going to bed and there should be a 2 hour gap between dinner and bed time. This is not absolutely right. You need not go to bed hungry convincing yourself that you are doing your self a favor.
Many end up snacking if they are working or studying late into the night and have hampered sleep patterns or weight gain due to unhealthy snacking.
This is a misunderstanding. All...

We hear so much about fiber and all its health benefits. The carboholics who eat subsist on refined, low fiber foods are advised to increase the fiber intake. It is commonly seen that most of my clients eat very less fiber. So my advise is to increase their fiber intake and there are many who end up thinking that if they eat lots of fiber then their health problems will disappear and then come back to me telling...

The craze for low fat food is still on, where everyone hunts for low fat dishes to cut down calories. It is a wise decision to follow, but is it a practical decision is my question. If the fat content has been cut down, then the taste and the quality too comes down. If the high calorie flavoring agent is missing, then it is replaced by another such as fat is replaced by sugar.
The fat content is displayed less...
