Galactogogues are nutritional supplements that are said to improve the production of breast milk. Though their effects have not yet been proven scientifically, all nursing mothers in India are traditionally given one or more of this Galactogogues.
Milk, Zeera (Cumin Seeds), Methi (Fenugreek Seeds), Ajwain (Carom), Saunf (fennel), Nuts (Walnuts, Pistachio, Peanuts, Almonds) and garlic are usually added to special food preparations for nursing mothers in India.
Omega -3 fatty Acids and breast milk:
The diet of pregnant and lactating women should be rich in omega 3 fatty acids (2) which are important for the growth of the baby’s central nervous system and retina. Although fish is also a good source of these, pregnant and nursing mothers should restrict intake of certain fish, Particularly sardines, because of the high mercury and PCB exposure, Eggs, Flax seeds, nuts especially walnuts and walnut oil are good source of Omega-3 fats.
I cant stress it enough. Mothers milk is very important for the baby. But some mothers completely ignore this fact and start relying on the supplement powders that are available in the market. I am not against using of these powders but it should be used in a balanced way by also breast feeding the baby.

Nice! You gave me a few pointers!
I thought sardines are less in mercury ,,,,
